While working for a small sign shop, I had the opportunity to work on a huge variety of projects. Learned more there than probably anywhere else. Signmaking crosses over so many different arenas, from woodworking to electrical, from hand carving to gold leaf... it's an art form. Not only do you have to make something look good, it has to be effective and last a long time. It's taken a long time in our life to get to the point where we can really do what we have always enjoyed doing. We get to talk to people and find out what they need and are trying to accomplish with their sign and then translate that into something real. In 2016, my wife Kelly and I got a deal on a small cheap to sandblast cabinet and a laptop. We bought a case of RTIC tumblers to sand-etch engrave just to see if we could sell them. We sold the whole box very quickly and started a facebook business page to get pictures of our work out there. Bought more and started trying out glass bakeware. The etched glass was very popular and really took off. I hoped I could use this as a springboard to get my name out there and maybe get noticed and find a job doing what I love. It morphed into doing various types of signage and now here we are. We both currently work full time jobs and do this in the evenings and on weekends. Hoping for the day we are so busy that we can just work for ourselves doing what we really enjoy.
